Our hearts are saddened to announce that heaven has gained another angel.

Gladys "Peggy" May Smith Wells Crossley, 96, passed away unexpectedly in the early morning of Jan. 8, 2015.

Gladys was born April 16, 1918, to Ivyl C. and Gladys Barnes Smith in Whitetail, Mont. She was the oldest and only girl of their three children. Her brothers, Buddy and Gene, preceded her in death.

Peggy married the love of her life, Novell Elwood Wells, on Dec. 15, 1938. Novell passed away in 1970. They had seven children, Barbie, Mick, Butch, Terry, Betty, Patty and Ron.

Her kids were her world. She loved to play jokes on them but no matter what she was always there for them. She was an amazing mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother and friend.

Peggy later married Wallace Crossley. He passed away in 1988.

Peggy is survived by her children, Butch, Patty and Ron, numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren, with many more to come. Peggy was very proud of her posterity.

We are happy she finally got her wish to return home to her heavenly father and family that preceded her in death. We know she is with Novell and family watching over those of us who are left here.

She was an amazing example to all of us.

Peggy was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, Jan. 15, in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Stake Center at 790 S. Haskett in Mountain Home. Family viewing will be earlier that morning, at 8 a.m. Interment will follow at the Cloverdale Cemetery in Boise at 2:30 p.m. Arrangements are under the direction of Rost Funeral Home, McMurtrey Chapel in Mountain Home.

Peggy would want you to hug your family members and cherish the time you have with them, but know you will see them again. Families will be together forever.
