Jody Lynn Stolp, 52 of Hillrose, Colo., lost his battle with cancer Wednesday, Dec. 17, 2014, at his home in Hillrose. A celebration of his life will be held July 4, 2015.

Jody Lynn was born May 24, 1962, in Eugene, Ore., to Diane Burton and Robert Stolp. He was a hard worker, always willing to give a helping hand with projects or with those in need. He would give you the shirt off his back.

He loved to fish and enjoyed barbecuing with family and friends. He loved children of all ages. He enjoyed teaching them camping, mechanics and life skills. He loved to color with the little ones and to take the older kids tubing and fishing at the lake. He loved having a house full of family and friends and hearing little voices saying "Unke Jody."

He is survived by his wife, Barbara Stolp of Hillrose; mother Diane Gomez of Mountain Home, Idaho; father Robert Stolp of Oregon; stepchildren Ray Slocum of Fort Morgan and Jeremiah and Dakota Nichols of Hillrose; granddaughter Aerith; brother Donde Stolp (Regina) of Wiggins, Miss.; half brother Rob Swift (Jerri) of West Chester, Ohio; sister Jeanne Freer (Bryan) of Boise, Idaho; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and friends of all ages.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Frances and Robert Burton, and Mabel and Rudy Stolp; and brother Robert Stolp.
