Letter to the Editor

Development office defended

Wednesday, December 24, 2014

Dear Ms. O'Hanley:

You addressed a multitude of problems in your letter to the editor. I have an answer for the majority of them, get out and run for office. If you do not like what is going on then be the agent of change.

As for your remarks pertaining to Paula Riggs and the Economic Development Office, you are totally off base there. You disparaged two hard working dedicated employees from that department for your lack of "facts."

I have known both of those women for probably 20 years. They are a credit to the city and work off the clock an unknown number of hours on civic projects that make this city a better place to live.

As for Paula, you seem to find the most displeasure in, she is a hard working, dedicated, tenacious, highly intelligent person (not to mention professional).

If there was a better person for the job to head up the city's Economic Development office, I do not know who that would be. A lot of the work she does cannot be talked about as companies like their anonymity, so it is hard to see how much she does.

The good things I have to say about both women would fill a book so I will close by saying, live by the Golden Rule, "do unto other as you have them do unto you."

God Bless, and Merry Christmas.
