Wreaths Across America

Friday, December 19, 2014

Members of the local American Legion organizations, as well as a small crowd of citizens, gathered last weekend for the Wreaths Across American observance at Mountain View Cemetery.

The featured speaker for the day was former mayor Dave Jett, who also is a veteran.

Above, a collection of flags, ranging from the POW/MIA flag to flags of individual military services, all had wreaths placed next to their flagpoles.

Once again the Legion did a great job and many of us were impressed with Mr. Jett's speech. If you go look today, the original wreaths are still going strong and between the Legion Riders and Civil Air Patrol, more were added yesterday. Not only were they added to Mt View Cemetery but to ones in Prairie, Pine, Fairfield, Bruneau, Grand View and Oreana.
