Essay contest gives kids a chance to fly with airshow performer

Elevate Your Life is a special youth foundation created in memory of Ryan Poe.

The Ryan J. Poe Foundation, in association with the Gunfighter Skies 2014 air show, is holding an Elevate Your Life essay contest for middle school children in the Treasure Valley.

Winners will receive a plane ride with airshow pilot Brad Wursten, who is also performing at Gunfighter Skies. The deadline for the essays is Sept. 12. The Gun Fighter Skies Air Show, featuring the Thunderbirds, is Sept. 20-21 at Mountain Home Air Force Base. Admission is free.

Winners will be notified by phone and must be available on Thursday, Sept. 18, for the plane ride at the Mountain Home Municipal Airport.
