Youth on bike hit by car

A 17-year-old teen was struck by a car at the intersection of E. 8th North St. and N. 6th East St., near the hospital, just before 2:30 p.m. Monday.

The youth was flown by air ambulance to St. Alphonsus Regional Medical Center where he was treated and released.

No further details are available at this time as police are just beginning their investigation, but authorities are reminding all drivers in the area to beware of school children walking or on bicycles.
