MHAFB not selected as training site for Afghan air force

Mountain Home Air Force Base will not receive a training cadre of Afghan air force pilots and maintenance crews.

Both Mountain Home and Shaw AFB, S.C., which were both in the running for the mission, lost out to Moody AFB in Georgia, which has been selected as the preferred alternative in the Environmental Assessment prepared by the Air Force to clear the way for the training mission.

  • Lost out? More like lucked out. However much anyone might have thought our economy would have benefited from this, it would not have been worth the headaches that would certainly come with this contract.
