Stray dog killed their family pets

Wednesday, July 16, 2014

Dear editor:

Our family loves our pets. We feed them, water them, care for them, hold them, pet them, and take them to the vet when they are sick, just as many other pet lovers do with their animals.

Today, someone's dog came into our yard and killed two of our beloved pets, while our 14-year-old son tried to stop the carnage.

The dog ran off and our son called the proper authorities to try and catch it.

It took me over two hours to clean up the disaster when I got home this evening. I didn't want our family to be reminded of what happened to our pets every time we looked out at the mess left in our yard from the loose dog.

If you, the people of Mountain Home, EVER see a dog running at large, please call the pound immediately to come and pick it up (Animal Shelter: 587-2111), so someone else won't have to experience what my family has had to experience today.

Also, if you do have a dog picked up, you may be helping a family find their runaway dog, so they can reunite with them easier.
