Troix Alexander Silvers, 18, beloved son, big brother and friend, passed away quietly at St. Luke's Regional Medical Center in Boise after a lengthy battle with Ewing Sarcoma cancer.

He was surrounded by his loved ones at the time of passing.

A celebration of his life will be held at 2 p.m., on Saturday, July 12, 2014, at Rost Funeral Home, McMurtrey Chapel, 500 N. 18th East St., in Mountain Home. Please wear colorful and comfortable clothing.

Troix was born in Davenport, Iowa, on Jan. 11, 1996, where he and his family lived until moving to Idaho in 2011.

When Troix was little, he was adventurous and he loved to be outside whenever possible. He really enjoyed going caving. And of course, his love of video games started.

As he got older he developed a love for reading and music. He often loved to read and listen to music during classes.

He loved movies, especially Anime, and video games. He loved to share videos he found online.

Troix attended Mountain Home High School before his illness. His hope was to have a career as a video game tester.

Troix was diagnosed with Ewing Sarcoma on July 22, 2013. By the time he was diagnosed, the cancer had spread to his lungs. He fought his illness bravely to the very end. He never complained. Troix was very mature for his age. He even helped in making the decisions about his care. Although he exhibited such maturity, he maintained his sense of humor, often pranking his nurses and visitors. Troix was very loved by many people. His smile and sense of humor were infectious.

Troix was baptized June 20, 2014, by the hospital chaplain, surrounded by family and friends. Troix began the next part of his journey on June 22, 2014.

Troix is survived by his mother and father, Sarina and Terry Silvers, and his brothers, Trent and Taite Silvers, and by his girlfriend, Sydney Oppenhein.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made at Bank of the Cascades to Troix's Soldiers Against Sarcoma.
