Christensens mark 60th

Wednesday, July 2, 2014

Chris and Tamzy Christensen of Mountain Home (and Arizona) will celebrate their 60th wedding anniversary on July 3.

The couple were married in Caldwell in 1954.

Chris was a sergeant in the Air Force stationed at Mountain Home Air Force Base when he met his future bride at a skating party in Nampa.

The couple soon married and after Chris left the Air Force he ran a Ford dealership from 1967-1988, then served as executive director of the Mountain Home Chamber of Commerce for several years. Tamzy worked in local banks as an administrative assistant.

Self-described "snowbirds," although their home is in Mountain Home, they spend the winter in a second home in Arizona.

The couple have three children: Bruce and his wife, Shiela, of Deer Lake, Ann and her husband, Phil of Stanwood, Wash., and Tammy and her husband, Rick, of Pendelton, Ore. In addition, they have four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

They will celebrate their anniversary with family in Pendleton.
