Bridge to be repaired near Fall Creek

Wednesday, May 28, 2014

The Mountain Home Highway District will repair a bridge crossing at Fall Creek, which is located on County Road 128 about 11 miles east of Prairie about 6.5 miles north of Fall Creek Lodge.

An approximately 1/2 mile section of County Road 128 will be closed beginning May 28 from about one mile north of Ice Springs Campground and just east of the County Road 128 and Forest Road 129 junction. The repair is anticipated to be completed by approximately June 12.

The Fall Creek area and Fall Creek Lodge will be accessible from Pine. Access along the reservoir from Anderson Ranch Dam east towards the closure is open and available.

The existing timber bridge was damaged by fire in 2013 as a result of the Elk Complex fire.

The replacement is being done by Kesler Construction, headquartered in McCall, Idaho, and will involve replacing the damaged timber bridge with a modular steel bridge.

Repairs are being done in partnership with the United States Forest Service and the Mountain Home Highway District.

Further information is available by calling the Mountain Home Highway District at 587-3211or the Mountain Home Ranger District at 587-7961.
