Tennis season ends with loss
The Mountain Home Tigers closed out their regular season tennis schedule Thursday in Sun Valley against The Community School Cutthroats.
The Tiger girls lost 6-1 while the Tiger boys lost 5-2.
In girls' singles, Heidi Rawlins dropped the first singles match 0-6, 1-6. Karina Guadarrama lost the second match 1-6, 1-6, and Kiana Galloway came up short in the third singles match 2-6, 1-6.
In girls' doubles, Mary Martin and Katelyn McKenzie battled tough, but lost the first doubles match 4-6, 1-6 and Emily Gillies and Kira Anderson also lost a close, hard-fought match, 6-7 (TB2), 3-6, in the second doubles match.
In boys' singles, Brad Foreman picked up a win in a hard-fought, three-set third singles match, 6-3, 5-7, 6-3. Timothy Austin lost the first singles match 2-6, 0-6 and Austin Griswold dropped the second match in a hard-fought, close 6-7 (TB1), 5-7 match.
In boys' doubles, Nathan Gibbons and Marc Pelletier lost the first doubles match 1-6, 0-6, and Nick Vogl and Toren Lombardo were blanked in the second match 0-6, 0-6.
The girls' point and the other boys' point came in the second mixed doubles match, where Dalton Barker and Monica Spinazzolo won a wild three-setter 6-3, 4-6, 6-4. Haydon Draper and Kaitlyn Stevens dropped a close 3-1 doubles match 1-6, 4-6.
The Tigers' match with Bishop Kelly was cancelled due to a scheduling mix-up and was not rescheduled. The Tigers open District III 4A tournament action Thursday in Nampa.
