Track and field team wins tri-meet, places at Caldwell

Mountain Home won a tri-meet with Bishop Kelly and Kuna last Wednesday and also placed at a meet in Caldwell on Friday.

Mountain Home won the girls meet with 84 points. Kuna was a distant second with 41 and Bishop Kelly had 38 points.

The Mountain Home girls picked up ten first places.

Makena Carson and Sable Lohmeier were double winners. Carson won both hurdle events and Lohmeier won both the shot put and discus. Carson also was a member of the winning 4x400-meter relay team, which included Heather Baronsky, Arisha Karren and Kristan Jackson.

Alexandra Tatum won the triple jump, was second in the long jump, fourth in the 200 meters and was a member of the winning 4x100-meter relay team with Whitney Sandberg, Jacci Cristobal and Tracey Gordon. Sandberg also won the 100 meters, and was second in the 200 meters. Arisha Karren also won the 800 meters and came in second in the 1600.

Besides her efforts in the 4x400-meter relay, Kristan Jackson was second in the 400 meters. Allyson Elms took second in the high jump and was a member of the sprint-medley relay team, along with Kamilyn Wright, Yuridia Ayala and Kristen Cook, which finished second.

Willow Freer also had a second place finish in the pole vault, and the 4x200-meter relay team of Yuridia Ayala, Kamilyn Wright, Jessica Wright and Jenny Lindsay also finished second.

Third-place efforts went to Kaitlyn Whiteley in the 100-meter high hurdles, Patricia Rogers in the shot put, Charity Dodge in the discus, Jacci Cristobal in the long jump, and Audrey Ling in the triple jump.

Fourth-place efforts went to Yuridia Ayala in the 100 meters, Kristen Cook in the 100 meter high hurdles, and to Kaitlyn Whiteley in the pole vault.

Mountain Home picked up 13 first-place efforts in rolling up 102 points to win the boys meet. Kuna was second with 49 and Bishop Kelly had 31 points.

AJ Daniels figured in on four first place efforts, winning the 100- and 200-meter dashes, and was a member of the winning 4x100-meter relay team (with Jonathan Deese, Sam Benzie and Jacob Ryan) and 4x200-meter relay team (with Jonathan Deese, Eric Reetz and Jacob Ryan).

Jett Cristobal won the triple jump, was second in the long jump, and was a member (along with John Thomas Frierson, Devin Wright and Abrahan Salas) of the sprint-medley relay team that took first.

Tristan Jammerman won the 110-meter high hurdles and was third in the 300-meter hurdles.

Other first-place efforts went to Eric Reetz in the 300-meter hurdles, Nolan Pasqualetti in the high jump, Luke Lockard in the pole vault, and the Tiger 4x400-meter relay team of John Thomas Frierson, Eric Reetz, Joshua Robinson and Abrahan Salas.

Anthony DeSantis had second-place efforts in both the 1600- and 3200-meter runs. Jonathan Deese was second in the 200 meters and third in the 100 meters. Chance Llewellyn was second in the triple jump, third in the long jump, and fourth in the 100 meters. Cody Boguslawski was second in the discus and third in the shot put. Other second place efforts went to Will Weygint in the pole vault and Sam Benzie in the 100 meters.

Joshua Robinson finished third in the 200 meters and fourth in the 1600 meters. Other third-place finishes went to Abrahan Salas in the 800 meters, Andy Croft in the 1600 meter and David Parrett in the pole vault.

Fourth-place efforts went to Dallin Dearing in the discus, Connor Weygint in the pole vault and Taylor Simpson in the triple jump.

Mountain Home went to the Moke Strong Canyon County Classic on Friday, where the boys finished fourth and the girls were sixth.

Vallivue won the girls event with 165.33 points. Skyview was second with 120, Middleton was third with 96.5, Columbia fourth with 75.33, Caldwell fifth with 68.5 and Mountain Home sixth with 60. There were nine teams competing in the girls' competition.

Alexandra Tatum was Mountain Home's only first-place finisher. She won the triple jump and finished third in the long jump.

Makena Carson was second in the 100-meter high hurdles and fourth in the 300-meter hurdles.

Whitney Sandberg finished fifth in the 100-meters, as did Sable Lohmeier in the discus. Kristan Jackson had a seventh-place effort in the 400 meters.

Vallivue also won the boys meet, racking up 153 points. Skyview was second with 132, Caldwell was third with 100.5 and Mountain Home was fourth with 68.5 points. There were 11 teams competing in the boys' events.

Ryan Eckstrom had second-place efforts in both hurdle events, as well as the pole vault.

The Tigers 4x200-meter relay team of Jonathan Deese, Chance Llewellyn Eric Reetz and AJ Daniels also finished second.

Fifith-place efforts went to Dallin Dearing in the discus and Jonathan Deese in the 200 meters. AJ Daniels and Sam Benzie tied for fifth in the 100 meters.

Sixth-place efforts went to Jose Ortiz in the shot put and Luke Lockard in the pole vault.

Seventh-place efforts went to Tristan Jammerman in the 110-meter high hurdles, Eric Reetz in the 300 meter hurdles and Chance Llewellyn in the triple jump.

Sam Benzie and Jett Cristobal had eighth-place efforts, Benzie in the 200 meters and Cristobal in the triple jump.

The Tigers head to Kuna this Thursday and Friday for the District III 4ATrack and Field Meet.

The junior varsity meet at Middleton will appear in next week's edition of the Mountain Home News.
