Golfers place during 2 events

The Mountain Home Tigers golf teams competed in two tournaments last week.

They traveled to Twin Falls for the Canyon Ridge Invitational last Tuesday, where they finished 22nd as a team in the 22-team field. Eagle won the tourney, shooting a 290 over 18 holes. The Tigers shot a 368 team total.

On Wednesday, the Tigers were at Centennial Golf Course in Nampa for a conference tourney.

Emmett won the boys event, shooting a 162 team total over nine holes. Caldwell was second, shooting a 175. Nampa came in at 179, two shots better than Mountain Home. Kuna was fifth with a 194 team total.

Jake Egusquiza led the Tigers, shooting a 39, just two strokes behind Tristan Bessy of Emmett, who was medalist with a 37. Egusquiza was tied for third place.

Andrew Curtis and Marcus Egusquiza both shot a 43, which tie them for sixth. Jack Brown shot a 56 for the Tigers.

Kuna and Nampa were the only schools of the five at the Centennial tourney that had full teams. Kuna shot a 228 total, Nampa a 234.

Mountain Home had two golfers in the girls' tourney.

Willow Freer shot a 53, which was second, behind Emmett's Jessica Lyter, who blistered the course in a 38. Stephanie Marsh shot a 59, which tied her for eighth.

The Tigers close out their regular season at Centennial Golf Course in Nampa today, April 30. Mountain Home will host the District III 4A Golf Tournament at 9 a.m. Monday at the Desert Canyon Golf Course.
