James (Jim, Jimmy, Jimbo) Joseph Suprise of 53 years young, passed away peacefully on the morning of March 24, 2014, at home in Mountain Home.

A memorial service with military honors will be held at 11 a.m., on Wednesday, April 2, at Rost Funeral Home, McMurtrey Chapel, in Mountain Home.

Jim was born in Bear Creek, Wisc., on Sept. 14, 1960, the youngest of three children of Darwin and Edith (Suring) Suprise. Jim graduated from Clintonville High School in June of 1978. He grew up on the family farm until 18, when he joined the United States Air Force.

Jim loved to travel wherever the military took him.

He married Jean Kay (Sessom) Suprise in Tempe, Ariz., on June 18, 1988. They lived in Yaxley, England, when Jim was stationed at Alconbury AB, England, from 1988-1992. Then they came to Mountain Home AFB, from 1992-2000.

They have three wonderful children, Joshua, 25, Jesse, 21, and Jacelyn, 7.

Jim retired as a technical sergeant from Mountain Home AFB, on Nov. 1, 2001, and decided to call the town of Mountain Home our home.

He loved to fish, hunt and enjoy the outdoors any chance he had.

Jim was a member of Mountain Home American Legion Post 26 and commander of Post 26 from 2009-2010, Mountain Home HAWG Hunters Bass Fishing Club and was the HAWG vice president from 2000-2003, La Societe Voitre 336, Disabled American Veterans, DAV commander from 2010-2011 and the DAV adjutant from 2013-2014, Mountain Home American Legion Post 101 and a volunteer of the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation Local Chapter 13185 from 2006-2009.

Jim is survived by his wife, Jean, son Joshua, son Jesse and daughter Jacelyn, his brother, Danny and wife Diane Suprise, his sister, Connie and Robert Leopold. He is also survived by his in-laws, David and Karen Sessom, son-in-law Jim Sessom, sister-in-law Catherine (Sessom) Liddle, and step-sister Tammy and Ken Evers.

He was preceded in death by his parents and and his step-mother, Isla (Flink) Suprise.

Jim, we miss you so much and thank you for all the memories. Your family and friends love you very much. Hugs and kisses till we meet again.
