Arthur Lloyd Nave Sr., 58, of Mountain Home, passed away on Sunday, Feb. 23, 2014, at his home, following an illness.

A celebration of his life will be held in Kingman, Ariz., on May 3, and another in McAlester, Okla., on May 10. Cremation was under the direction of Rost Funeral Home, McMurtrey Chapel in Mountain Home.

Art was born Nov. 25, 1955, in McAlester, Okla., the son of Dewey Eldon and Jean Ann Nave.

He join the U.S. Army Sept. 30, 1974, and served five years.

He married Mary Dowe in 1976 and they had seven children together.

Art worked with the Mohave County Sheriff's Office in Arizona as a deputy sheriff. He retired after 20 years with MCSO.

Art's hobbies included traveling, fishing, hunting, spending time with his family and spoiling his German Shepard, Vander.

Art is survived by: his children, MSgt. Leslie and her husband, Jon Barnes; MSgt. Linda and her husband, Rande Schulze; Charles Nave; Rev. Arthur Nave Jr.; Laura and her husband, Richard Gosser; Lois and her husband, David Walters; Joseph and his wife, Emily Nave, and Vander, his dog. Art is also survived by his siblings: Naomi and her husband, Joseph Kuster; Phyllis and her husband, Dick Welch; Dale and his wife, Karen Nave; John and his wife, Juliet Nave; Cecil and his wife, Myra Nave; Ron and his wife, Joy Nave; Sharon and her husband, Leon Broyles; Howard and his wife, Amy Nave, and 12 grandchildren and many nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Mary.
