The Mountain Home Lady Tigers dropped a couple conference road games last week, losing at Skyview and Nampa.

Skyview 65, Mountain Home 46

A 13-2 run by Skyview over a nearly eight-minute span helped the Lady Hawks push out to an insurmountable lead on their way to a 65-46 win over Mountain Home last Wednesday night at Skyview.

Whitney Sandberg gave Mountain Home its only lead of the night, hitting the first basket of the game, but the Lady Hawks quickly gained the lead on an 8-0 run.

After Jacci Cristobal scored to cut it to 8-4, Skyview, the Lady Hawks rolled off on a 17-5 run to build up a 25-9 lead. They led 32-19 at the half.

The closest Mountain Home got in the second half was 12, at 32-20, early in the third quarter, and Skyview's biggest lead was 65-41 late in the game, before Mattie Bennett scored the final five points to make it a 65-46 final.

"We didn't play too bad, except for a few stretches where Skyview made some runs on us," said Mountain Home girls basketball coach Brent Keener.

"Mattie (Bennett) and Jacci (Cristobal) were aggressive on offense and played pretty well. Skyview is pretty tough with (Leah) Bonner back this year, and Bailey Pasta still there," the coach added

Jacci Cristobal and Mattie Bennett led the Lady Tigers with 23 and 13 points, respectively. Whitney Sandberg added six points and Tracey Gordon scored four.

Mountain Home shot 37 percent (14/38) from the field, and made four of 14 long balls (29 percent). They shot 70 percent (14/20) from the free-throw line.

Skyview shot 40 percent (27/67) from the field, including five of 13 (39 percent) three-point shots. They made just three of eight shots (38 percent) from the foul line.

Nampa 69, Mountain Home 51

The Lady Tigers battled Nampa tough Friday night, but fell to the Lady Bulldogs 69-51 in conference action at Nampa High School.

Nampa shot out to an 18-12 first-quarter lead and led 29-24 at the half. The Lady Bulldogs stretched it to 49-34 after three quarters.

"We've got to find a way to stay out of foul trouble and handle full court pressure better," said Coach Keener after the game.

"We had too many turnovers and gave up too many offensive rebounds. We shot the ball better overall, but still missed a few easy ones."

Jacci Cristobal and Mattie Bennett both reached double figures in scoring -- Cristobal netted 14 and Bennett 11. Whitney Sandberg scored nine points, Tracey Gordon added eight and brought down nine rebounds, Sable Lohmeier scored five, and Alexis Juarez and Morgan Vivier both had two points to round out the scoring.

The Lady Tigers fell to 2-4 in conference and 2-6 overall. They travel to Caldwell Thursday night, and host Bishop Kelly in a 1:30 p.m. Saturday afternoon game.
