Sheriff seeks help in finding missing woman

The Elmore County Sheriff's Office is seeking the public's assistance in locating 47-year-old Karin F. Geruldsen of Glenns Ferry.

Geruldsen has not been seen or heard from since Nov. 7. She has been diagnosed as a schizophrenic patient and is required to take medication. Family suspects that she may not have taken her medicine.

Geruldsen's family notified the Elmore County Sheriff's Office on the evening of Dec. 2 that they have not been able to make contact with Karin and requested that deputies conduct a welfare check at her residence. The last contact they had with her was at the end of October.

Sheriff's deputies began their investigation late Monday and into Tuesday. So far, deputies and detectives have established that Karin last used her debit card on Nov. 6 and 7 in Glenns Ferry. Since that time, no one has seen her and there has been no activity on her bank account or cellphone.

Geruldsen was last seen on the west end of Glenns Ferry traveling east on the railroad tracks about 2-3 weeks ago, right before dark. She was last seen wearing a long coat that comes down just below the waist.

Karin Geruldsen is 5'10", approximately 210 lbs., with brown hair and brown eyes. She does not own any vehicle and does not drive.

Thursday morning the Civil Air Patrol began searches along the Snake River, in the vicinity of Glenns Ferry and around Bennett Mountain. Deputies are currently following up on a number of leads phoned in my citizens.

Anyone with information on the whereabouts of Karin F. Geruldsen or anyone who may have had contact with her is asked to contact Elmore County Sheriff Detective Lieutenant Clint Andrus, at 587-2100 or contact any local law enforcement agency.
