Mary Mildred Printz, 74, passed away on Monday, Oct.28, 2013, in Nampa after a long, courageous battle with cancer.

A memorial service will be conducted at 11 a.m., on Friday, Nov. 15, at the United Methodist Church, 205 S. Ada Street, Glenns Ferry, where she was a member. Inurnment will be at the Glenn Rest Cemetery in Glenns Ferry.

Arrangements are under the direction of Rost Funeral Home, McMurtrey Chapel, in Mountain Home.

Mary was born July 24, 1939, in Mojave, Calif., to Thomas and Dorothy Ruth (Ilseng) Finnerty.

She graduated from Mojave High School in 1957, and married Howard Pomtier the same year.

Mary and Howard had three sons, Tom, Scott and Butch. They were later divorced.

Mary married Charles Jordan Printz in August 1988. They lived in Poway, Calif., prior to moving to Glenns Ferry in February 1992.

They loved to square dance, travel the countryside and to woodcarve.

Their favorite place to spend their summer was to camp in Cascade and carve the days away.

Mary continued to travel, woodcarve and camp in Cascade after Charlie passed away in 2009, until her health began to fail.

She was an avid reader, a tole painter and loved to decorate sweatshirts and T-shirts.

She was a member of PEO Chapter Z, Preceptor Omega Chapter of Beta Sigma Phi Sorority and Eastern Stars.

Mary is survived by her three sons and their spouses, Tom and Christa Pomtier of Nampa, Scott and Nancy Pomtier of Kingston, Washington, and Butch and Ellen Pomtier of Nampa, and three grandchildren, Richard Goldin, Rachel Goldin, and Sara Pomtier.

She also is survived by her siblings and their spouses: Annette Aeling, of Escondido, Calif.; Ellen Coney, of Boise; Bonner Brown and Jim Landrum, of Austin, Texas; Allyson and Don Stark, of Twin Falls, and Gib and Melanie Brown, of Glenns Ferry.

Also surviving her are stepsister, Sandra Herman, of Lakewood, Calif., and numerous nephews and nieces.

She was preceded in death by her father, Thomas Finnerty, and her mother and stepfather, Dorothy and Slim Griggs, her husband, Charles Printz, and brothers-in-law Ed Aeling and Max Coney.
