Kelly Creek Fire pre-evacuation ordered

Monday, the Elmore County Sheriff's was notified by the U.S. Forest Service about a new fire in the Sawtooth National Forest in Elmore County, named the Kelly Creek Fire.

This fire is located in Kelly Creek just south and west of the Baumgartner Camp Ground area. The Forest Service reported increased fire activity and has ordered a Pre Evacuation Order effective Tuesday morning at 8 a.m. from Willow Creek to Skelton Creek.

Willow Creek is six miles east and upriver from the Featherville Bridge and Skelton Creek is above the Baumgartner Campground area.

Elmore County deputies will be going door to door and to the campgrounds to give the pre-evacuation order to residences and campers.

The Elmore County Sheriff's Office is encouraging people who may have placed their campers in any area above Featherville to Skelton Creek for camping this upcoming Labor Day weekend to go pick up your trailer tomorrow and follow law enforcement orders while in the area.
