Kittie passed away on Aug. 21, 2013, at Life Care of Treasure Valley.

She was born to Don and Bessie Lester as one of 12 children on Feb. 8, 1929, on a 1,200-acre wheat farm in Watford City, N.D.

She met the love of her life, Lavell Paige, at Geiger Field, Spokane, Wash., and they were married on March 7, 1948, in Greeley, Colo.

Kittie was a great military wife and mother. She and Lavell served in many duty stations through the years, coming from England to Mountain Home in 1957. Their last duty station was Ramey AFB in Puerto Rico.

They decided to retire from military life and returned to Mountain Home where Lavell worked civil service on base and construction for the Bermensolo brothers.

Kittie was an Avon representative for many years. She also drove a school bus for Mountain Home School District.

She served as president of both the DAV and American Legion Women's Auxiliary.

She was a long-time member of Miriam Chapter #16 and Meridian Chapter #66 Order of the Eastern Star, serving as Worthy Matron seven terms. She served on many Grand Chapter committees and as Grand Electa in 1978 and Grand Ruth in 1983. She was a member of Iras Temple #40 Daughters of the Nile and Social Order of the Beauceant.

She was among the first to have an aortic heart valve replacement. for many years celebrating that second birthday and chance at life.

Kittie and Lavell moved to Boise in 1984 where they managed Granger Mobile Home Park.

She is survived by husband Lavell, daughter Linda (Dave) of Kingman, Ariz., and Claude (Linda), Joe (Teresa) and Darren (Laura), all of the Boise area. She has nine grandchildren and six great-grandchildren, brother, Glenn Lester of Nampa and Eunice Yost of Parker, Colo.

A viewing will be held Friday, Aug. 23, from 5-7 p.m. at Cloverdale Funeral Home. Services will be held on Saturday, Aug. 24, at 2 p.m. at Cloverdale Funeral Home with rites given by members of the Order of the Eastern Star and burial to follow at Terrace Lawn Memorial Gardens.
