A fresh, new look

From left, Daryl Rhead, Anders Mouritsen, Dr. Travis Criddle and D.J. Johnson repaint a fire hydrant on East 8th North Street as part of a community service project Saturday morning.

Scouts from local Troop 175 led a team of more than 30 volunteers to repaint approximately 80 hydrants on the city's north side during the day.

Christian Mouritsen from Troop 175 organized the effort as part of his Eagle Scout project.

J.D. Tarbet uses a wire brush to remove aging paint from a hydrant before it receives a fresh coat of paint.
