Ted Thompson, a representative with Embry Riddle University, explains how aircraft fly to children from parks and recreation's adventure camp during their visit to the Mountain Home Airport on June 18.

The youngsters received the basic flight lesson as they participated in this year's camp.

Geared for those ages 6 to 11 with a specific theme each week, the camp continues through Aug. 9.

Jaden Bennett turns a styrofoam ball into a model of the planet Jupiter as the camp participants turned the parks and recreation classroom into a scale version of the solar system, complete with planets, moons and asteroids.
