Andrea Guajardo Alaniz, 68, of Boise, formerly of Mountain Home, passed away on Saturday, June 22, 2013, in a Meridian Care Center.

On Tuesday, June 25, a viewing will be held from 4-6 p.m. Rosary will be at Rost Funeral Home, McMurtrey Chapel. A funeral mass will be held at 10 a.m., on Wednesday, June 26, at Our Lady of Good Counsel Catholic Church. Burial will follow at Mountain View Cemetery.

Andrea was born Nov. 30, 1944, in Odom, Texas, to Beatriz Dominguez and Esteban Guajardo.

Andrea was a multi-talented woman. She obtained a bachelor's in computer science. Andrea enjoyed teaching. She served as a substitute teacher in Anaheim, Calif. She also taught ESL in Mountain Home, along with secretarial work at West Elementary in Mountain Home.

Andrea also was an interpreter to the courts and public. She obtained her notary public.

Along with other trades, she most enjoyed being a help to others.

Andrea is survived by her five children, Dion Alaniz, Michelle Alaniz, Eric Alaniz, Desiree Alaniz and Steven Alaniz. She has six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. She is survived by her husband of 18 years, Miguel Salinas Tapia.

Andrea was very family oriented. She loved her brothers and sisters dearly, whom she is also survived by.

The family would like to give a special thank you to Meridian Care and Rehab for the excellent care, also a big thank you to St. Luke's Hospice for the great love and care and support you have give the family.

She will be deeply missed.
