Helen Santy, 80, of Mountain Home, passed away on Saturday, June 22, 2013, at a Meridian hospital.

A viewing will be held from 4-6 p.m. on Thursday, June 27, at Rost Funeral Home, McMurtrey Chapel. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., on Friday, June 28, at Rost Funeral Home, McMurtrey Chapel. Burial will follow at Mountain View Cemetery.

Helen was born Aug. 3, 1932, in Paige, Texas. As a child, Helen worked in the fields and as one of the oldest she helped raise her siblings. Moving on to California, she raised her six children as a single mother, had many struggles but was strong and overcame them. After her children were raised she moved to Idaho, remarried and remained in Mountain Home for the next 21 years.

She enjoyed quilting, canning, cooking and gardening. She liked dancing and music, loved lottery tickets and trips to Jackpot, Nev.

She loved her family and always gave from her heart.

Helen is survived by her children, John Santy of Mountain Home, Alice and her husband, Ignacio Cuevas, of California, Isaac and his wife Charlyn Santy of California, Fred Santy of California, Kings and his wife, Kristi Santy, of Meridian, David and his wife, Selene Santy, of Texas, her brothers and sisters, Lupe Martinez of Texas, Frank Gaona of Colorado, Manuel and his wife, Ofelia Gaona ,of Colorado, Tony Gaona of Texas, Serapio Jr. and his wife, Elenor Gaona, of Colorado, her grandchildren, Johnny, Raymond, Stephanie, Marcie, Yolanda, Armando, Michael, Isaac, Monique, Elizabeth, Letticia, Freddy, Sergio, Carmen, Angelica, Kaylie, Deylan, Jace and Christopher.

She is also survived by 16 great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild, and her sister-in-laws, Syble Markin of Texas, Naya Santy of California, Juanita Adkins of Louisiana and Josephine Clark of Oklahoma.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Tony Santy, and her sister, Louise Villion.
