Gone fishing...

Friday, June 14, 2013

Novice and veteran anglers drop their lines into the pond at Legacy Park on Saturday for a day of fishing fun during an annual event hosted by the Idaho Department of Fish and Game.

The state's free fishing day event was geared for people of all ages, including state residents as well as non-residents.

It's the one day of the year where people can fish anywhere in the state without a license.

Bradley Lang works to free the bluegill he landed near a shady spot at the pond. People were only permitted to keep any trout they caught and had to release other types of fish they landed.
Journey Kissick, 3, sits on a rock in hopes of landing her first fish. The state fish and game department stocked the pond with an assortment of trout, bluegill and perch for Saturday's event.
