Mountain Home tennis teams found the going tough last week at the District III 4A Tennis Championships in Caldwell.

The Mountain Home girls finished eighth, winning just three matches. Tessa Pachner and Emma Wenger opened with a win before losing in the quarter-finals to the number one seed. They then won their next two matches to finish in sixth place, good enough to qualify for this week's state tourney.

The Tiger boys finished ninth, winning just one match during the tournament. Mountain Home's number one boy's singles player Timothy Austin picking up that win after losing his opener. He lost to a Columbia player to end his tournament hopes.

"Both teams battled hard and many matches went three sets, but only a few were able to close out the match with a win," said Tiger tennis coach Tamzy House. "I was very proud of the teams. They represented Mountain Home superbly.

"Great thanks also to the parents who helped at various sites, supporting the players and coaches."

Coach House indicated Tiger Tennis will close out its season with a Tennis Award Mixer at the Aguirre Park tennis courts on Tuesday.

"Tiger Tennis will also host the Tiger Tennis Summer Camp during the first two weeks of June (June 3-14) for ages four to 17 years," Coach House said. "Registration forms are at all the schools. Submit the forms and the registration fee at the high school administrative office."
