Easter egg hunts scheduled

Wednesday, March 27, 2013

One of the fun traditions of Easter are the annual egg hunts.

Some churches and families hold their own, but there are two big community events in the area, one in Mountain Home on Sunday and the other in Grand View on Saturday.

Mountain Home

The Annual Community Easter Egg Hunt in Mountain Home, sponsored by Sabre Lodge No.7, Free and Accepted Prince Hall Masons, will take place on Sunday, March 31, beginning at 1 p.m. at Carl Miller Park.

This event is open to all children.

Older children will utilize the entire grassy area of the main park.

A separate area is held for toddlers 4 years of age and under on the East Elementary School playground. The smaller children will receive Easter baskets to get them started.

The Lodge also offers a hunt for children with disabilities in the cook-shack area.

For further information, contact Douglas Hoston Sr. at 599-0384, or James J. Rentie Jr. at 590-0330, or any member of Sabre Lodge No. 7.

Grand View

The Grand View Lions Club will sponsor an Easter egg hunt on Saturday, March 30, beginning at 10 a.m. at the Grand View City Park.

The event is open for children from toddlers through fifth grade. Candy-filled eggs will be available. Those attending should bring their own baskets.

Parents are invited to bring a camera to have pictures taken with the Easter Bunny.

For more information, call Dixie at 834-2350 or 834-2217.

Meanwhile, The Cottages of Mountain Home will hold an Easter egg hunt at 2 p.m. Saturday, March 30, at 735 South 5th West Street. Families are encouraged to bring their children and Easter baskets for the egg hunt.

A visit with the Easter Bunny is also planned. For details, call The Cottages at 580-1121.
