Lanham easily turns back recall effort in Glenns Ferry

Wednesday, March 13, 2013

Glenns Ferry Mayor JoAnne Lanham easily turned back a recall effort during Tuesday night's special voting.

Lanham received 206 votes to retain her as mayor while 137 votes were cast to recall her. One vote cast was not marked. All results are unofficial until they have been canvassed later this week.

Under state law, in order to successfully recall Lanham, a total of at least 204 votes would have had to have been cast to recall her (exceeding the number by which she was elected), and the votes to recall would have had to have exceeded the votes to retain her.
