Wrestlers split dual matches

The Mountain Home Tigers came away with a split of conference dual matches last week, beating Middleton, but losing to Caldwell in home wrestling matches.

Tigers 65, Vikings 23

Mountain Home won 11 of 15 matches against the Middleton Vikings last Wednesday night in Lloyd Schiller Gymnasium in Mountain Home as they rolled to a 65-23 conference dual match win.

Picking up wins by pins were Jordan Pendleton at 132 pounds, Levi Abrahamson at 138, Tanner Sessions at 145, Jacob Ryan at 160, and Blake Spagnolo at 170 pounds.

Jacob Lucas won by technical fall (18-3) at 98 pounds.

Winning by forfeit were Aerial Groene (106 pounds), Taylor Ogaard (182), Josh Deal (195), Preston Hyde (220) and Dallin Dearing (285).

Tyler McCall lost by technical fall (18-1) at 152 pounds, Josh Saporta (113) and Bobby Dominguez (126) lost by pins, and the Tigers forfeited at 120 pounds.

Cougars 54, Tigers 22

The Tigers closed out the regular season dual match schedule at home against Caldwell Friday night, losing to the Cougars 54-22.

Picking up pin wins for the Tigers were Tanner Sessions at 145 pounds, Josh Deal at 195 and Dallin Dearing at 285.

Aerial Groene won by major decision (18-8) at 106 pounds.

Losing by decisions were Jacob Lucas (3-2) at 98 pounds, Levi Abrahamson (8-1) at 138 pounds and Jacob Ryan (8-5) at 160 pounds. Tyler McCall lost a major decision (11-0) at 152, Preston Hyde lost by technical fall (16-1) at 220, and losing by pins were Josh Saporta (113), Connor Carpenter (126), Jordan Pendleton (132), Blake Spagnolo (170) and Taylor Ogaard (182). The Tigers forfeited at 120 pounds.

The Tigers head to Kuna for the district tourney this Thursday and Friday.
