City council approves revisions to transient merchant licensing

Rules and restrictions for merchants, church organizations and school groups knocking on people's doors are expected to see some changes after the city council gave initial approval of the revised law Monday evening.

Last updated in 2002, the transient merchant ordinance came under closer scrutiny in late 2011 as the council aired concerns with certain sections of the city code.
