Early voting set to begin

The deadline to pre-register for the Nov. 6 general election is Oct. 12 at 5 p.m.

Elmore County will start in-person absentee voting on Monday, Oct. 15, at the courthouse from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

In-person absentee voting will end on Friday, Nov. 2.

Properly registered voters may request an absentee ballot be mailed to them for the Nov. 6 general election. The request must be in writing and include the voter's name, physical address, mailing address, and signature.

The deadline to pre-register for the Nov. 6 general election is Oct. 12 at 5 p.m. After that deadline has passed, anyone needing to register or update an existing voter registration, must appear in person at the courthouse, show photo identification, provide proof of residency and absentee vote at the same time.

Voter registration will be available at the polling places on election day. Voters will need to bring photo identification and provide proof of residency.

Required residency, for voting purposes in the State of Idaho, is 30 days.

Voters may vote for any candidate from any party in the general election.

Voters must show photo identification or fill out a personal identification affidavit in order to receive a ballot.

Each voter will receive two ballots. The first page is the candidate ballot and the second page is the issues ballot.

The Idaho Secretary of State will mail to every household in the State of Idaho a voters' guide, which will provide information on the two state constitutional amendments and the three propositions.
