Catholic Church to host annual 'Blessing of the Pets'

Friday, September 21, 2012
Fr. Ben Uhlencott takes a minute to meet Mary Lou Koelsch's miniature ponies as the Catholic priest chats with her granddaughter, Diana Fish, during last year's Blessing of Pets event.

A procession of dogs, cats and other pets and animals are expected to gather at the local Catholic church later this month as part of a special ceremony.

Our Lady of Good Counsel Catholic Church holds its Blessing of Pets at 1:30 p.m. Sept. 30 in front of the parish building at 114 North 4th East Street.
