Claude was born Aug. 11, 1923, in Mountain Home, to Juan Domingo Bermensolo and Maria Egia Bermensolo. He was raised and attended school in Mountain Home, graduating from Mountain Home High School in 1941.

He worked on survey crews for the Palisades Dam and Anderson Ranch Dam. He then worked in the shipyards in Bremerton, Wash.

In 1943, Claude joined the U.S. Navy and trained as a radio man and was one of the top ten in his class. He served in the Pacific Theater during WWII.

After his tour of duty in the Navy, he entered the University of Idaho where he met Christy Sargent. They were married in 1950.

Claude graduated from the U of I with a Juris Doctorate Degree in 1951.

After leaving the U of I, they lived in Boise for a short time where Claude was a member of the Gene Anderson Law Firm.

Claude and Christy moved to Mountain Home where he and his brother, John, started Mountain Home Real Estate and Insurance Agency. Claude retired after 50 plus years in land development for the Mountain Home community.

During his working years he participated in many community organizations including the Military Affairs Committee. He was a founding member of the Elmore Memorial Hospital Board.

Claude enjoyed bird hunting, fishing, and golfing -- especially with the "Round Bellies."

He especially enjoyed his partnerships with his closest friends known as the "BBKY" and "BBKS".

Claude and Christy raised four children who were his pride and joy -- the loves of his life, along with his 12 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren who have given him much happiness.
