Final count: Brackett, Nielsen win primaries

Two long-time lawmakers that failed to earn a majority of votes in Elmore County went on to win their respective district races, according to final results from last week's primary election.

Incumbent Republicans Bert Brackett and Pete Nielsen trailed in total votes when county officials released the results the evening of May 15.

However, additional votes cast in Legislative District 23, which includes portions of Twin Falls and Owyhee counties, gave both lawmakers the winning votes.
