Track team celebrates dual track win

The Mountain Home Tigers rescheduled their April 26 home track meet that got rained out for last Tuesday and won both the girls and boys competition against Boise High School.

Mountain Home won the girls competition, 94-62, over Boise with Selena Foster leading the Mountain Home girls. The sophomore won the high jump and pole vault, finished second in the triple jump and third in the 100 meter hurdles.

Meanwhile, her nine-foot, six-inch vault tied the school's pole vault record.

In other track results, Jhorie Kelly won the 300 meter hurdles and finished second in both the 100 meter high hurdles and high jump.

Kacee Cameron won the 800 meter run, was second in the long jump and third in the triple jump. Arisha Karren won the 3,200 meters and was second in the 1,600. Emilee Schetzle won the discus and was third in the shot put.

In addition, Kristen Kreutzer won the shot put for the Tigers while the Mountain Home medley relay team also took first.

Keesha Janis-Gibson finished second in the 3,200 meters, shot put and discus. Tracey Gordon was second in both the 100- and 200-meter dashes. Mattie Bennett was second in the 300 meter hurdles and third in the long jump.

Erica Cook finished second in the 800 meters while Mountain Home came in second in the 4 X 100, 4 X 200 and 4 X 400 meter relays.

Third-place efforts went to Myra Vasquez in both the 1,600- and 3,200 -meter runs, Whitney Sandberg in the 100, Natasha Feekes in the high jump and Leann James in the discus.

Mountain Home ran away from Boise in the boys competition, 111-37.

J.T. Cristobal won both the 100 and 200 meter dashes and finished third in the 400 meters and triple jump. Dion Salinas won both the 110 meter high hurdles and 300 meter hurdles and came in second in the high jump.

Meanwhile, Michael Daniels won both the long jump and triple jump and was third in the 100 meters. Tyler Knauth had a first in the 400 meters and a second in the 1,600. Luke Filipovich won the high jump, and was second in the triple jump.

Other first-place efforts went to Raymond Aflague in the discus, Michael Price in the 1,600, Alex Dominguez in the 3,200 and the 4 X 100 and 4 X 200 meter relays.

Eric Reetz had a second-place finish in the 300 meter hurdles and a third place in the 110 meter high hurdles. Chaise Hopkins was second in the long jump and third in the 300 meter hurdles. Jon Ryan was second in the shot put and third in the discus.

Other second-place Mountain Home efforts went to Ricky Castillo in the 200 meters, Steven Kreyche in the 800, Andy Croft in the 3,200, Aaron Menhart in the 110 meter high hurdles and the Tiger 4 X 400 meter relay.

Third-place efforts went to Nolan Pasqualetti in the 800 and Solomon Chung Hee in the shot put.

The Tigers also competed in a track meet last Friday at Jerome. Results of that track meet were not available at press time.

Mountain Home will host the District III 4A Track and Field Meet this Thursday and Friday at Tiger Field. Action gets under way at 3:30 p.m. both days.
