In the wake of the storm...

Wednesday, May 9, 2012

A mobile home at 755 South 10th East Street bears the scars from a wind storm that tore through the Mountain Home area Friday afternoon.

Packing sustained winds of 35 miles per hour, the late afternoon storm clocked maximum gusts of 45 miles per hour at the Mountain Home Municipal Airport with stronger gusts topping 52 miles per hour reported at Mountain Home Air Force Base.

The wind was also linked to a downed transformer on Ditto Creek Road and caused a window to shatter in the former King's Building in downtown Mountain Home.
