Cinco de Mayo festival scheduled

The Elmore County Hispanic Organization will host a Cinco de Mayo celebration from 2 to 6 p.m. Saturday in the Stardust Plaza parking lot in Mountain Home.

Marking its first celebration since 2007, the event features performances by the ECHO Dancers at 2:45, 3:30 and 4:30 p.m. as well as mariachi music at 3 p.m.

  • Curious as to why this is so widely celebrated in the US. Isn't it a celebration of the Battle of Puebla? What does that have to do with the US?
