Millie D. Smith, 79, passed away at home on April 21, 2012, of congestive heart failure, surrounded by her family and friends who sang her home to Heaven. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, April 28, 2012, at Rost Funeral Home, McMurtrey Chapel.

Millie was born on Dec. 7, 1932, to Roy and Jewell (Wheatley) Scott, in Blue Springs, Neb., the first of four children.

The family moved to Mountain Home in 1945, where she met and married Raymond Smith on July 4, 1949. Ray and Millie had three children: Gordon, Susan and Diana.

Millie stayed home to raise her family before working outside the home. She was an avid bowler. She and Ray loved to go camping in the mountains and trail riding, and they built their cabin above Pine in 1969.

When Ray retired in 1989, they moved up to the cabin full time and loved every moment. They studied and became EMTs while in Pine.

In 1996, they moved back to Mountain Home due to Ray's health. He passed away in November of 1996. Family has always come first, behind her devotion to her Lord.

Preceding her in death are her parents, her little brother Richard, her best friend and husband, Ray, and two grandchildren. She is survived by two sisters, Irene and her husband Don Albers of Olympia, Wash.; Ruth and her husband Frank Baker of Silver Peak, Nev; her children: Gordon and his wife Beth Smith of Coon Rapids, Minn; Susan and her husband Bob Fish of Pine; and Diana and her husband Dan Aulbach of Meridian; six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. She will be missed dearly.

In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Mountain View Community Church, C/O 1927 Bob's Place, Pine, ID 83647.
