Fund established for injured woman

Friday, April 6, 2012

The local postal union established a burn recovery fund for a Mountain Home woman injured in a house fire April 1.

Catherine "Kayce" Ferguson remains in critical condition at the burn center at University Hospital in Salt Lake City.

Ferguson was pulled from her burning home on North 14th East Street by two passersby, who were passing the home when they saw smoke billowing from the structure.

"Many of Kayce's friends and customers have asked how they can help Kayce recover from the injuries and damage caused by this accident," said Morning Iverson, a spokesperson with the local postal union. On Thursday, the organization highlighted the fund established in her name.

Representatives with the postal organization remain optimistic that Ferguson will fully recover from her injuries, Iverson said.

People may donate to the burn recovery fund at Home Federal Bank, 400 North 3rd East Street across from the post office. For more information, call 870-9275.
