County commissioners reject plans for contested housing development

A proposed housing development that drew public opposition over the past three years received a "no" vote by the board of county commissioners during a hearing March 26.

The fate of the Clear Springs Ranch Subdivision remained in question after the three-person commission denied a final plat on the project.

Located north of the interstate on the west end of Beaman Road, the phased project sought to build 204 homes over a several-year period.
