Jesse Le Roy Cochran Sr., 74, of Mountain Home passed away Friday, Feb. 17, 2012 in Mountain Home. A graveside service will be held Monday, Feb. 27, 2012, at 2 p.m. at Mountain View Cemetery in Mountain Home.

Arrangements are under the direction of Rost Funeral Home, McMurtrey Chapel. A Celebration of Life will follow at American Legion Hall Post 26.

Jesse was born Oct. 21, 1937 in Covina City, Calif. He was the third child of Jesse and Lois Cochran. Jesse had three sisters and a brother.

He met Sandra Hammond in St. Petersburg, Fla., and later married in Santa Ana, Calif. Together, they lived in southern California for 38 years. They had two children, Sabrina and Jesse Jr. They had many adventures throughout California, including camping, fishing and hunting. He would take his children to the shooting range and teach them how to shoot.

He retired from the Teamsters and the Air National Guard and then moved to Mountain Home in 1999. He was honored to serve his country.

He enjoyed playing pinochle and poker. He also enjoyed participating and being a member of American Legion Post 26. He loved to go fishing. Whether he caught anything or not, he always had a good fish story.

He was proud of his yard and received first place in the Festival of Lights for his outdoor Christmas decorations. He started a garden and won awards for his tomatoes, watermelon and peppers at the state fair. He enjoyed reading Louis La'mour books and could tell you John Wayne's complete history. He was a huge John Wayne fan.

His spouse of 44 years, Sandra, was taken to heaven in April of 2005.

Jesse enjoyed spending time with his significant someone, Ginger de la Motte, and her family. He loved his visits with his daughter and family in Alaska and his fishing expeditions. He was there for the birth of his great-grandson, Lincoln.

Jesse will be missed by his special someone, Ginger of Mountain Home; his daughter Sabrina and her husband Dave Alvarez, of Palmer, Alaska; his son Jesse Jr. of Wyoming; his brother and sister-in-law, Jack and Julie Davis, of Boise; grandson Robert and Tanya Shanks and great-grandson Lincoln, of Palmer, Alaska; grandson Jesse Alvarez, of Palmer, Alaska; and his constant canine companion Lady. He was preceded in death by his wife, Sandra, and both of his parents.
