Letter to the Editor

The best New Year's resolution you can make is to quit smoking

Wednesday, January 11, 2012

Dear editor:

2011 has come and gone... what a year.

Last June, my dad had symptoms of a stroke, however it was later found that he had a tumor in his lung that traveled to his brain. Radiation and chemo didn't work, and the cancer in his brain made it impossible for him to care for himself. It made an independent, 82-year-old senior citizen into a completely dependent, frail man.

He died last November.

If you are reading this, and your 2012 New Year's resolution is to stop smoking, give it your all.

Cancer never sleeps, and it does happen.
