ON THE ROAD

Wednesday, January 4, 2012

We ended the year at the Winter Series Open rodeo, presented by the College of Southern Idaho rodeo team, coached by Cody DeMers. Although my partner and I didn't fare to well in the team roping, it was a well run, exciting rodeo to benefit the CSI rodeo team.

CSI has turned out several PRCA cowboys over the years. Shawn Davis, 3 time worlds champion saddle bronc rider, also coached the CSI rodeo team from 1977-2006, Cody Hancock, worlds champion bull rider, Cody DeMers who made a good showing at the recent WNFR and Jesse Wright, a phenomenal young saddle bronc rider who gave this years cowboys a run for their money also at this years WNFR.

If you enjoy a good boxing match, don't miss the annual CSI Boxing Smoker, held at the College of Southern Idaho, January 28th, 8 pm. This is a very entertaining event pitting the CSI men's and women's rodeo team against all comers! Tickets are available on line or at the door.

The second annual Daniel Dopps Memorial BOWL WITH THE BULL bowling tournament is set for April 21st, 6:30 pm, Freedom Lanes here in Mountain Home. Be watching for more information as it becomes available. We are also working on an open barrel racing at the Optimist Park this spring. Both these events go towards the Optimist Park arena improvment fund.

Until next time, we'll see you ON THE ROAD!
