Parent-teacher conferences set

Thursday, October 13, 2011

Schools in the Mountain Home School District will be having Parent/Teacher Conferences on Oct. 20.

All schools will be in session during the mornings of Oct. 20 and Oct. 21, however, no lunch will be served. Schools will dismiss at 11:30 a.m.

"These conferences are extremely important and allow parents an opportunity to meet the teacher, exchange information about the student, and promote a better understanding of home and school," Supt. Tim McMurtrey said.

Mountain Home High School and Mountain Home Junior High School teachers will be available to meet with parents from 1-4 p.m. and from 5-8 p.m.

Conference times for students attending Hacker Middle School or any of the elementary schools will be on an individual basis. A note will be sent home with the students indicating individual conference time, but they also will be held from 1-4 p.m. and 5-8 p.m.

  • This was the best time for me to show my kids that mom and dad DO work with the teacher/s to make sure the kids were doing THEIR job. My kids all knew that come time for PTC they had better be on top of things and doing THEIR job right. It was also a time for the teacher to really understand that if they have a problem, they better get in contact with me. No joke. Everyone had to work as a team. Took effort on all our parts, but it worked. I looked forward to those conferences believe it or not. Normally had really nice ones.
