Lady Tigers fall in season finale
The soccer season came to a close last week for the Mountain Home Lady Tigers with their losses to Middleton and Emmett.
Middleton 3, Mountain Home 0
The Mountain Home Lady Tigers played hard against Middleton, but came up short against the Lady Vikings, 3-0, during Senior Night at Eastside Park.
C.J. Bish had nine saves on goal for the Mountain Home girls. The Lady Tigers had five shots on goal during the game, but were unable to get any of them into the net.
Mountain Home girls soccer coach Stephen Speak was proud of the effort by his girls and thought his seniors went out on a good note.
"For all intents and purposes, a lot of things went wrong, but in a lot of ways, a lot of things went right," the coach said. In their performance and their effort, they gave themselves a really good send off.
"Our seniors put themselves on the line tonight and really played their hearts out. I'm really proud of them and I'm going to miss them."
Emmett 4, Mountain Home 3
The Lady Tigers closed out their soccer season at Emmett last Thursday and battled hard, but came up short, 4-3, to the Lady Huskies.
With nine teams in the district, and only eight advancing to district, the game ended up being for the eighth seed. With the loss, the season ended for Mountain Home, which did not advance to the district tourney.
