Tigers tie with Middleton, lose against Columbia

The Mountain Home Tigers played two games last week, with bad weather also taking out one additional game.

The Tigers's Michael Daniels scored the team's lone goal in the first half, and Middleton got one in the net in the second half, as the two teams battled to a 1-1 tie Tuesday at Eastside Park.

Jack Richelieu had ten saves on goal for the Mountain Home boys while Tomas Guillen added two saves on goal for the Tigers.

"We played an excellent first half, but in the second half we couldn't keep up the intensity," said Mountain Home Tiger boys soccer coach Jay Lockett.

Columbia 2, Mountain Home 1

The Tigers shot to a 1-0 first half lead, but Columbia scored two goals late in the game to down the Tigers 2-1 Saturday afternoon at Eastside Park in Mountain Home.

Juan Sanchez scored the Tigers' only goal off an assist by Michael Daniels.

Jack Richelieu had 15 saves on goal for the Tigers before he left the game after he injured his elbow. He was replaced by Tomas Guillen, who had two saves.

"The first half we played a wonderful, flawless game," said Coach Lockett. "The second half, we just got out of our game."

Mountain Home's game at Emmett last Thursday, Sept. 15, was postponed because of bad weather at Emmett.

The Tigers were home against Nampa on Monday, travel to Caldwell today, Sept. 21, before they play at Skyview on Saturday.
