Turners to celebrate 50th anniversary

Carl and Jean Turner of Mountain will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary on Sept. 27.

A celebration of the event is being planned by the couple's oldest son, Kennith.

Carl Turner married Jean Walker on Sept. 27, 1961, in Cokeville, Wyo., in her brother's house, the first home ever built in Cokeville and which today is an historical monument.

Carl retired in 1982 as a master sergeant after 22 years in the U.S. Army. He served in both Korea and Vietnam. Jean was the homemaker during the time.

The couple moved to Mountain Home earlier this year after having lived here in the early 1970s.

The have four children, Kennith, Karla, Karen and Norman, and four grandchildren.
