Lady Tigers fall to Kuna

Friday, September 16, 2011

The Mountain Home Lady Tigers dropped a 4-0 conference soccer game to Kuna last Thursday at Eastside Park.

Mountain Home was unable to get a ball in the net. C.J. Bish had 25 saves on goal as goal keeper.

Mountain Home girls soccer coach Stephen Speak saw some positives from the game.

"We were definitely in that game for 80 percent of that against a team that has good quality and a good history of performing well at the state level. I think that's a good testament to our improvement, that we can stick in with a team like that for 80 percent of the game, and when you've got their coach coming over to me and the girls saying how much we've improved and what a good game we played, that speaks volumes."

The Lady Tigers, who stand at 1-5 in conference, have three games this week. They were at Middleton on Monday, returned home against Emmett today, Sept. 14, and start the second time through their conference schedule Saturday as they take on Columbia.

  • 80 percent of the time??...I was always coached that you give 100 percent everytime...all the time!

Soo what did the team do for 20 percent of the time? "sandbag"? I've never heard a coach make and excuse like this...very weak...these girls deserve better!
