Runners finish third at Camelsback

Mountain Home finished third in both the girls and boys competition at Friday's Camelsback Invitational cross country meet at Camelsback Park in Boise.

Mountain View won the girls competition with 21 points, ahead of 5A SIC foe Rocky Mountain, which had 44 points. Mountain Home was a distant third with 101 points, Borah had 108 and Emmett 118.

Arisha Karren led the Mountain Home girls with a time of 22:22.13.

Sarah Richins ran a 22:33.49, just ahead of teammate Keesha Janis-Gibson, who ran a 22:33.80. Kacee Cameron ran a 23:01.49. Shelby Henrick ran a 23:25.23. Arial Groene ran a 25:07.45 and Shalonda Reed came in with a 25:48.94.

Alicia Reynolds led the Mountain Home JV girls, running a 26:32.79.

Rachel Goodman was right behind with a 26:41.90. Heather Williams came in with a 27:16.55, and Aundrea Dickenson ran a 29:14.51.

Rocky Mountain won the boys race with an impressive 15 points.

Borah was second with 52 points, Mountain Home came in third with 87 and Emmett had 107.

Mike Price led the Tiger boys with a time of 18:17. Taylor Croft ran a 19:20.32. Peyton Cline set a new personal record with a time of 19:56.67. Steven Kreyche came in at 19:58.06. Daniel Courtright ran a 20:04.27, Andy Croft had a new personal best time of 20:08.04 and Andrew Turner came in with a time of 25:21.81.

Cody Price ran in the J.V. race and came in with a time of 33:36.24.

"Mountain View and Rocky Mountain are very good 5A schools, but for our first effort I thought we ran pretty well. We had some good packs in both races, and a couple of the boys set new PRs."

The Tigers run at Caldwell Twilight Invitational this Thursday.
